How-to Guide

Create a Free Image Grid for Instagram Posts

Instagram's native multi-image posts have a fixed layout you can't control. By merging your photos into a custom grid before posting, you decide exactly how your images are arranged.

Instagram's multi-image layout is predictable: 2 side by side, 3 in an L, 4 in a 2×2. A pre-composed grid breaks the pattern — and pattern-breaking content gets more attention, saves, and shares.

Custom grid formats: (1) Mosaic — 3×3 showing 9 detail shots from a larger scene, (2) Split-panel — 2×1 with product one side, lifestyle the other, (3) Story-style — 4×1 vertical strip telling a mini-narrative.

For feed aesthetics: 2–4px white border between cells, consistent color palette. For Stories (1080×1920px): vertical 2×1 or 3×1 grids. Export at 1080×1080px for feed, 1080×1920px for Stories.
